2025 Certification Application Period Extended – Refer a Colleague
The board is currently accepting applications for initial certification. The deadline for submitting certification applications has been extended to May 10, 2025. If you know a colleague who would make a great board certified specialist, encourage them to apply or email his/her name and practice area to kseruset@ncbar.gov.
* The immigration law specialty is offered every other year. The next application period for this specialty is Spring 2026.

To address this financial hurdle, we created the Jeri Whitfield Scholarship through NC LEAF to pay the application fees for public interest lawyers who pursue initial certification.
